We shared our Polo Holiday with Petra B Spanko. Iridike Polo Club. Spain

Meet Petra B Spanko After sharing our Polo Holiday with Petra this summer, we wanted you to know more about this Polo Passionate!  Iridike has led an interview with her and we hope to welcoming her soon again for another polo holiday in sunny South of Spain! IRIDIKE TEAM: Describe yourself in 3 words: PBS: Passionate, joyful, focused IRIDIKE TEAM: How did you start playing polo? When did you fell in love with the sport of king? PBS: I started to ride horses when I was around 10. Since then, they have always been my great passion. A bit later, I started to show jump. Once I moved to Dubai, I got myself a horse to continue my showjumping hobby. It’s now about 6 years ago, when I got inspired in the Desert Palm Polo club, watching polo team while training, when I was walking my cross-country trail for the next day competition. I started to look for a coach to teach me this amazing sport. And then I never went back. Lessons and more lessons, polo practices, first polo pony…and before you have a chance to realize, you are fully hooked to polo J IRIDIKE TEAM: What’s your favorite type of horse? PBS: If you look at my string, I think you will understand very fast which type of horses I Like. They all look the same for some reason, even though they all come from different stables. They are all dark bay, some with a little star on the forehead. They all have their own very strong character, but at the same time we are all there to fight like a team together. They are lovely together. Sometimes very naughty in the paddock, but always hard working on the field. I guess like every polo player, I like polo horses who are easy but fast on the field J It also very much evolves with the time. More you ride, more difficult character you can handle. But I’m all about the bond with the horses, even I know very well that some of the polo professionals might not share this opinion. IRIDIKE TEAM: What’s your best polo memory? PBS: Playing Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles in front of 6000 people and all the Hollywood celebrities on personal invitation of Nacho Figueras. The tournament where we’ve met with Nacho for the first time, is one of my best polo memories as well – Annual Polo Classic in Washington, Virginia, under the patronage of National Sporting Library and Museum of Jacqueline Mars. IRIDIKE TEAM: What do you like the most in your polo holiday experience in Iridike Polo Club? PBS: The full experience.  Luciano and Nano made this place of South of Spain so homy. The lovely times we were sharing all together around one big table is for me truly unforgettable. Luciano takes care of everything and everyone like you are his own family. That makes this please truly unique. You can enjoy great polo there but at the same you are genuinely welcomed with wide open arms to this polo farm community for a perfect polo holiday experience. The vibes there are very chilled and relaxed, but very deep at the same time. In another words, it’s hard to leave when the final day comes and before even leaving you are already looking for your next holiday where you could plan another trip to this happy place. IRIDIKE TEAM: What’s your life moto? PBS: Listen first and try to understand. Keep your mind always open and never judge.Try to leave the World better place than you found it.
